
The Holiday home Il Castagneto is totally surrounded by chestnut trees wood and pastures, where you can do trekking and mountain biking, following the paths pointed by C.A.I. or, more easily, relax yourself in the silence of nature, taking sun on the edge of the swimming pool.
At 7 kilometres you can find the centre of Pisogne, little village at the extreme north of Iseo Lake, a mall, the railway station and the little port, where the ferry boats leave to visit the sites of Iseo lake, especially Montisola (the biggest lake Isle in Europe).
Pisogne is also called the Village of chestnut, fruit that you can find in the woods surroundings the Holiday Home or buy, together with polish mushrooms and some other typical products, during the several village fairs that take place from June to October.
In the nearest neighbourhood there are famous thermal and ski resorts, among which the most important are Darfo Boario Terme, Palot Valley, Montecampione and Camonica Valley, with a rich naturalist property and two protected areas: Stelvio and Adamello National Parks.
In Palot Valley, at only 10 km from Pisogne, you can find ski runs and walking paths trough its landscape beauty and its typically alpine quiet; as this valley is at only 1.100 meters on the sea level, it is particularly indicated for the development of sport and recreational activities both for children and old people.
For ski and winter sports lovers, Monte Campione, famous ski site, offers 13 ski lifts, chair lifts and ski runs for both beginners and experienced and Ponte di Legno one of the most traditional and noble station of winter sports of the entire alpine arc.
Near Grignaghe, little hamlet of Pisogne, there is the lead and zinc mine Quattrossi, which still preserves a charm and an adventure flavour. Particularly suggestive the celebration of the Christmas Mass in the internal.
Itinerary of cultural interest, in the places where the painter Girolamo Romanino left some fundamental witnesses of his artistic journey: Tavernola Bergamasca, where the artist painted - in San Pietro church - the fresco “Madonna with the Child on the throne, saints and donors”; Pisogne with the large pictorial cycle in the sanctuary of S. Maria della Neve, till Breno and Bienno.
Nearby Capo di Ponte, there is the Rocky engraving of “Capo di Ponte” Park created in 1955 by the Archaeological Superintendence of Lombardia. It extends for about 35 hectares long the left bank of Oglio river. In the Park there are many paths, all easily practicable, which permit to observe from close up the largest part of the engravings (more than 7.000), the most surprising witness of the presence of the prehistoric man on the Alps.
